Private Pilot, Airplane Single-Engine Land

Phase 1:

  • Necessary supplies will be supplied on first day: Headset, ground school, books, etc., all provided by McCormick Air Center as part of the Fiscal Year Budget.
  • Flight hours: 15
  • Training will follow Cessna King Schools’ Private Pilot Syllabus (discussed on first day and provided with ground school)

Phase 2:

  • Purpose of this phase is to complete hour and experience requirements toward the certificate.
  • Flight Hours: 20
  • Training will still follow King Schools Private Pilot Syllabus from Phase 1.

Phase 3:

  • Purpose of this phase is checkride prep: ground training and finishing flight hour requirement. If more dual is required for proficiency in preparation for practical test, that time is provided in this phase.
  • Flight Hours: 10
  • Ground hours: 7

Private Pilot, Rotorcraft to Fixed Wing (Airplane Category Addon)

No written exam required. Practical Exam IS required. Reference 14 CFR Part 61.109 for required flight time.

Phase 1:

  • Books and supplies not required since pilot already has an airman certificate.
  • Purpose of this phase is dual flight time required for the airplane single engine land addon.
  • Flight Hours (including solo): 23
  • Training will be tailored to the individual and their set of experience.

Phase 2:

  • The purpose of this phase is checkride preparation.
  • Flight Hours: 7
  • Ground Hours: 4

Instrument Rating - Airplane

Phase 1:

  • Necessary supplies will be supplied on first day: Headset, ground school, books, etc.
  • Flight hours: 15
  • Training will follow Cessna King Schools’ Instrument Rating Syllabus (discussed on first day and provided with ground school).

Phase 2:

  • Flight hours: 20
  • Training will follow Cessna King Schools’ Instrument Rating Syllabus
  • If required, this phase can be repeated to meet the cross-country PIC flight time requirement in 14 CFR Part 61.65

Phase 3:

  • Flight hours: 10
  • Ground hours: 10
  • Training will follow Cessna King Schools’ Instrument Rating Syllabus

Instrument Rating - Airplane (Rotorcraft to Fixed Wing Addon)

Phase 1:

  • Assuming student already has Instrument-Rotorcraft and all cross-country PIC and general instrument time.
  • No books or materials required
  • Flight Hours: 20

Commercial Pilot, Airplane Single-Engine Land

Phase 1:

  • Books and supplies, all provided by McCormick Air Center as part of the Fiscal Year Budget.
  • Flight Hours: 17
  • Training will follow King Schools Commercial Pilot Syllabus (discussed on first day and provided with ground school).

Phase 2:

  • No supplies needed (given in Phase 1)
  • Flight Hours (solo): 29
  • Training will follow King Schools Commercial Pilot Syllabus

Phase 3:

  • No supplies needed
  • Flight Hours (solo): 29
  • Training will follow King Schools Commercial Pilot Syllabus
  • Student will be required to repeat this phase until close to their 250 hour total time requirement.

Phase 4:

  • Purpose of this phase is checkride preparation
  • No supplies needed (given in Phase 1)
  • Flight Hours: 17
  • Ground Hours: 10
  • Training will follow King Schools Commercial Pilot Syllabus
